Cirrus


The Cirrus Dart is a specialized super-high-performance kit and should only be used by experienced high power fliers.

This high velocity, 38mm minimum diameter dart is capable of extremely high altitudes with relatively small motors. Perfect for "H" and "I" class altitude attempts.

Don`t let its small size fool you, this is NOT a "model" rocket! In fact this rocket can attain higher altitudes than a 4 inch diameter rocket using a "K" motor; and at a small fraction of the cost. See the Motor Specifications Chart in the Spec Sheet section of our website for performance information. This is not a "Skill Level 1" rocket kit. To keep a high velocity, minimum diameter rocket like this together during flight, several important construction steps must be strictly adhered to. But don`t worry, everything you need (except for adhesives and paint) is supplied with the kit. Very explicit, step-by-step instructions are supplied as well. A good quality epoxy laminating resin will be required in addition to your regular 5 minute epoxy (EPY-5MIN). A HAMR motor retainer is not recommended for the Cirrus kit as it will disturb the airflow by projecting beyond the sides of the airframe, negatively impacting the purpose of the Cirrus, low drag and high altitude.

The CIRRUS is a potentially Mach busting kit for Pre-Cert & Level 1 flights. This rocket stands 44" tall, is 1.5" diameter, and has a 3 fin design. This rocket comes standard with a 38mm (Minimum Dia) motor mount and can fly on F thur I motors. At ~18 oz., the 18" parachute is sized right for the stock kit to make a safe landing under most field conditions. This kit comes standard with our exclusive Linear Rail Lugs for use with 80/20 brand launch rails. The stock airframe is ideal for flights up to approx. 0.85 Mach.

 
Below you will find a number of upgrade options. Upgrading the parachute size may be necessary if you intend to build heavy or have a hard landing surface (i.e. gravel, pavement, desert playa, etc.). Some motors will accelerate this rocket to transonic or even supersonic velocities. Under these conditions, this kit may require the fin upgrade, foam encapsulation of the fin root, as well as other advanced construction skills.

Quantum Leap II


PML`s "quantum mechanics" have continued to improve one of rocketry`s favorite two-stagers, the Quantum Leap.

The new Quantum Leap II, now with the new Interstage 3000 staging coupler system, is a completely modular two stage rocket. Once you assemble the four basic components, you can combine them to make any of five rocket combinations and can change to any configuration in minutes. The new Interstage 3000 system is much easier to prep and use than the previous interstage coupler design. The IS3000 comes complete with timer mounts and remote safety switch.

This 2-stage rocket kit is intended for the experienced HPR scratch builder intending to supply his/her own electronic parachute deployment system into the sustainer stage. NOTE: The following chart lists configurations of this kit that may be flown as it is received stock from PML. However, your addition of an electronic deployment system may/will make some of these configurations unavailable, depending upon the design of your system.

Interstage Coupler...

Interstage Couplers are used to house staging timers and to connect the upper and lower stages together. The Interstage 3000, the latest version from PML, is used in our two-stage rocket kits. Using an IS3000 system from PML is a quick, simple solution to an often-difficult design problem.

*This rocket is intended for experienced flyers only! A good understanding of proper motor selection and staging techniques is mandatory when flying any multi-stage rocket. We strongly urge you not to fly this kit without an electronic parachute deployment system installed into the sustainer stage. Failure to do so will allow the sustainer stage to fall to earth without recovery deployment if the sustainer motor fails to ignite. If you are unsure about designing and installing your own electronic parachute deployment system, consider buying the Quantum Leap 3000 kit, which contains the electronic deployment components (except altimeter) as standard. Co-Pilot v3.0 Altimeter


The Co-Pilot was designed to integrate perfectly with our CPR3000 based rockets or your own custom e-bay design!

PML Co-Pilot Version 3 Altimeter:

The Public Missiles Ltd. Co-Pilot v3 altimeter was developed exclusively for Public Missiles Ltd. by Missile Works Corp., and was designed specifically for PML’s CPR3000 Recovery System (though it can also be used in other applications as well, such as scratch-built deployment systems).

    PHYSICAL AND OPERATIONAL FEATURES

  • Same footprint as the original Co-Pilot and Co-Pilot v2.0.
  • Works just like the original Co-Pilot and Co-Pilot v2.0 in default mode right out of the package, but has MANY new advanced features such as Drogue Delay, Main Delay, multiple Main AGL settings, a programmable “Aux” terminal (and more!) that are user-configurable (see link to instructions below for details)
  • Works perfectly with any PML CPR-3000, CPR-MAX kit, or a custom design of your own
  • 15 flight memory at up to 28 minutes recording per flight
  • USB connection port (requires user-provided USB-A to Mini- B cable). Programing and flight data inspection via PC or laptop becomes a snap with the free mDACS software available below*

    * Please note that access to the Base Settings is made available via the CP3 DIP switch and pushbutton interface. The value of all these settings can be verified or reconfigured at any time without the use of the optional LCD Terminal (available only directly from Missile Works at this time here ) or PC USB interface. They provide a “manual” way to set up the CP3. However, the easiest and fastest way to configure the CP3 and review flight data is via the optional LCD Terminal Module or via the free mDACS PC software available below.
